IMPETUS:ARRANCADO
This piece is an investigation into how my personal values have shifted through the pandemic. I’ve used a visual vocabulary taken from my childhood memories of my abuela (grandmother) using ‘Curanderismo’ (spiritual healing) practices to treat and heal our family. The piece also investigates the loss of this knowledge, which is/has been ripped from our culture partially due to how we label people/practices/things & the fears that these labels create.
